Catching fish in the Wind - Cisco's Report for Sun 9/4
9-4-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Today it was nice and sunny but a lot more wind than the forecast called for. With everyone here and ready to fish we charged the islands in hopes of catching a bunch of Yellowtail for our holiday anglers. Yes, we dealt with wind all day, casting baits and lures into a head wind is a tough task for even experienced anglers. Behind the islands our boats were able to find calm patches of water and luckily they were holding fish. Overall, it was a decent day and it seems like everyone had a great time. Definitely a lot of fish caught judging by the count and the big sacks being dragged off the boats. We have another busy day ahead of us tomorrow as the Labor Day fishing trips are at capacity. Wish us luck and check back tomorrow at this time for another fish count and report!
Today’s Fish Count: 10 boats and 229 anglers.
95 Yellowtail, 2 Barracuda, 19 Bonito, 37 Calico Bass, 8 Opaleye Perch, 9 Sheephead, 2 Lingcod, 98 Ocean Whitefish and 269 Assorted Rockfish.
