Trout fishing is more miss that hit with the hot weather. Though a few are still catching them at night from the big blue dock at 40ft, but it is far and few in between. Lots of Crappie and Bluegill right now and they are great for kids fishing. Red worms and small Crappie jigs work best and are easy to use. Bass are out and about in the lake chasing shad around. We have had quite a few Bass Tournaments lately, one competitor stated that they were knocking them out at 17ft deep and anything with a chartreuse color pattern was hot. The Catfish bite is on, they love anything stinky and nasty like chicken liver and scented dough balls. We are hosting a Catfish Derby August 3rd that is open to boaters and shore fisherman. And again we have our annual Moonlighter Tournament coming up on August 20th. Don't forget to check us out on Facebook for more catches and details!
