Holiday Weekend at Cisco's SUNDAY REPORT
7-3-2016
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Fishing continues to be good here at the Channel Islands! Not only was fishing good today but the weather was very nice. Warm and sunny with enough breeze to keep you cool during the mid-day sun. Boats fishing in the kelp for bass were loading up on nice Calico Bass with a few Barracuda mixed in. Both Anacapa and Santa Cruz Island were being explored for Yellowtail and White Seabass but only at Anacapa the fish would bite. Several of our full day boats found themselves in a solid Yellowtail bite on fly-lined Squid or Anchovy. Surface iron was working well today if you could get the jig in front of one of these feisty fish. At the outer islands most of the boats focused on quality Rockfish but there was some Yellowtail caught at Santa Rosa too. Seems there are game fish at all the islands right now. The summer species are here and starting to bite with regularity. Time to get out there and go fishing! Believe it or not we still have plenty of open spots for boats fishing the 4th of July holiday. Give us a call tonight or book online anytime.
