Horseshoe Lake Report

6-2-2016
East Bay Regional Park District

HOURS OF OPERATION

OPEN Seven Days a Week
Gates open from 6am - 8pm

There was positive tests for blue-green algae in and around the swimming area. The swim area is currently closed and park visitors should be watchful of their dogs, taking care that they do not contact the water.

Currently our boat ramp and fishing pier are both open and the water is on the rise.

PLEASE REMEMBER THAT YOU MUST BE 100 FEET AWAY FROM THE FISH TUBE, THE BOAT DOCK, AND THE BEACH AREA while fishing from the shore and from a boat. Also, note that the use of lead fishing tackle is prohibited at Quarry Lakes.

GENERAL CONDITIONS

It has been sunny and mild in the morning with heavy wind in the afternoon. The water temperature has been on the rise and is probably one of the underlying factors in the slowdown of trout activity. The lake’s surface temperature as of June 2, was 74 degrees F at the surface.

CATFISH

There have been recent reports of some catfish being caught off of the point near the picnic bench on the peninsula.
