Fish Report for 6-2-2016

Temescal Fishing Report

6-2-2016
East Bay Regional Park District

GENERAL CONDITIONS
Temescal will be closed to fishing from June 6- June 8 so that the Integrative Pest Management staff can apply phoslock treatment. This treatment is used to reduce the amount of nutrients in the lake and suppress algae growth. Fishing has been moderate, with many anglers hooking one to two fish, usually trout. The water is nice and clear, and the weather has been very warm. Staff and the public have noticed a significant increase in carp sightings, these large fish average about 2 feet in length, and put up a good fight.

TROUT
Most anglers have been catching trout between 2-4 pounds, and have been having luck with plastic mouse tails.

BASS
A few catches of bass here and there have been reported, many on the smaller side around 2 pounds. The hot spot for bass is along the west shore trail between the docks.
