Aside from a lone bass that met it's fate our pit stop for glory turned into a tire screeching cloud of burned rubber as we sped from the slot. No fish worth pursuing there; and no time to waste. Recognizing that this is not a yellowtail adventure onward we sailed. In closing today I want to include a few admin items worthy of note. Upon departure we still had one space available on the upcoming Memorial day weekend three day run that holds tremendous fishing promise. Word direct from the local waters yesterday and today is Bluefin Tuna – unbelievable quantities of Bluefin tuna stretched from above the Mexican Border to well below. Mixed fish in the 30 – 150 pound class are abundant, and close; and the coastal yellowtail in numerous zones are plentiful. I am currently considering the addition of a special, one time this season 1½ day departing June 1st, returning June 3rd. If you are interested in joining this exclusive adventure on Royal Star please call Tracy and/or Brian in the office and we will add your name to the list. Otherwise there are a few more opportunities to join us on the early July three and four day adventures. Taking the local sign of bluefin and yellowtail into account I have no reservations of opinion about the offshore fishing potential this season will offer. These handful of spaces will soon be gone; the time to jump on it is now! As for this stretch of travel we are soon to be in full fishing mode. The most perfect weather imaginable sets the stage for good things to come. All that is needed now is cooperative big ones. We shall see.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.

Amidst refreshing Spring showers so did we depart; loaded, ready, excited. The swarthy complexion of crewmen, freshly returned from the previous run, assigned palpable evidence that the dream, the fantasy, had become reality. Beckoning from far below are giant yellowfin tuna, wahoo, and mythical visions of distant seas reserved for the very privileged few. These fifteen anglers are soon to be among them. Perfect sardines, and I offer that description very rarely, were the compliment to departure. I have never...... Read More
