As of today, April 26, 2016, the Lafayette Reservoir has had 18 plants for the season that totals 18,350Lbs of rainbow trout. The last plant of trout happened on April, 06, 2016 from Mt. Lassen. The Lafayette Reservoir has its last plant of Rainbow trout scheduled for April 27th, 2016 and there will be no plants of Lightning trout this season. Fishing seems to be picking up gradually with a couple lucky anglers reeling in some nice catches.
The East Cove seems to be the new hot spot for fishing on a boat or from the dock. Bass have been reported to susceptible to biting in weather that’s rainy or windy. The waters are still a little murky but seem to be steadily clearing with time.

4-14-2016Fishing remains slow at Lafayette Reservoir as the new rains put more material into the lake. However, the rain seems to favor the largemouth bass. On March 13th a 9Lbs and a 3Lbs bass was captured by two different anglers. They did not have their photo taken and didn’t sign the wavier to release their names. Lafayette ReservoirLafayette Reservoir’s fishing seems to be hit or miss as boats are going out, but not much being caught due to the rainy weather. Some anglers have mentioned having luck with trout using bass rigging, but could not confirm. The water is a little murky as the reservoir has risen significantly due to run off and continues to do so, as showers come rolling in. Last week DFW planted 1,000Lbs of trout on 3/15/16 and Mt.
