As Lake Camanche warms up and an extra-large plant was delivered to Pardee fishing was slower at both the pond and lake this past week. Those that did come to Camanche weren't disappointed. Catfish, bass and trout were all hot this week. trout baits reported at the fish cleaning station were red garlic scented powerbait and mouse tails.Water temps continue to rise as well with anglers reporting 67-71 degrees.

The lake has continued to rise as the snow is melting. Lake Camanche was 30.50' to spill level as of 4/19/16 and 53% of capacity. That's a long way from 19% last August.

North Shore Main Courtesy Ramp is now open!

South Shore Courtesy Ramp has moved to Low Water Ramp #1.

EBMUD is taking advantage of the low water at the main south shore ramp to build a new ADA accessible walkway to the ADA docks.

1,200 lbs. of Mt. Lassen trout were planted on Thursday 4/7/16 with 600 lbs. going into the lake at the south courtesy ramp and 600 lbs. at north courtesy ramp. An additional 1,200 lbs. are expected this week before the weekend.

Crappie and trout were the story this week. Crappies were found in the shallows around vegetation. Trout were found off shore at south day use in the cove beyond the boat ramp, by boat and at the pond. Popular baits for trout were garlic scented power bait, nightcrawlers behind a dodger and rapalas. Crappie bait was not listed.
