No this is not a golf tournament, but we did get into some excellent Bluefin fishing. Our morning started out early, with the boat leaving at 07:00 hours to load bait, and it took about 2 hours, but we have a great load of bait. We loaded most of our passengers yesterday afternoon, with the remaining loading this morning. We cleared the point, and headed west, before heading south.

With signs of 12 to 30 pound Bluefin the day before, we are hoping to get a few for dinner. With no signs out to the west, we made our move, and started moving south. We were about 30 miles from the point, and BINGO!!! We found schools of biting Bluefin, and it was game on. All the fish were caught on iron, with most of the fish coming on the surface iron. We had a few anglers get their daily limit (2 Bluefin tuna).

Most of the fish were in the 40 to 70 pound range, with a couple in the 20 to 25 pound range. But we left the fish biting, since we are on a 18 day fly back trip, we continue to move south.

Our weather is a bit chilly, with overcast skies, 8 to 12 knots of breeze out of the northwest. John Natsume caught the largest Bluefin tuna today, his fish was about 75 pounds.

We did weigh one fish, that was 66.7 pounds, and John fish was much larger. We will continue to move south, and keep you in touch with our daily reports. John Yamate will be at the helm this trip, with Roy, Dharyl, Eddie, Terence, Deron on deck, and in the galley you have Mark, Dave, and Joseph. So until tomorrow, wish us luck.
