The bad news today is that the majority of fish decided to take the day off. The good news is that we put our first cow of the trip in the barn. Gail Lynch landed the first and biggest fish of the day and it tipped the scales at 204.
It turned out to be a 2 for 1 for Gail as there were two major prizes on the line both of which he won. For getting the first 150 or better bait fish on the deck he was awarded a Calstar rod blank. There was also an Accurate Boss 600 H reel being offered for the biggest tuna over 200 and that prize also went to Gail. Not bad Gail! Two great prizes and the fun of fighting and landing a cow.
As for the rest of us good luck was hard for many of us to find. For the day we totaled 16 tuna and 6 wahoo, the majority of fish in the same size range as yesterday 50 to 180.
As they say, every day of fishing is different and of course not always better than the day before. As to the weather and great food we were all lucky there and time is still very much on our side so we are still all smiles, they’re just tired smiles! We’ll go at it again tomorrow and maybe it will swing back the other way again.
POEM OF THE DAY
He’s been hooked and released before
But each time it costs the fish more
He’s got hook-up insurance
But at each reoccurrence
He watches his premiums soar

TOMORROW! Long before you wake up tomorrow we will finally be testing the waters and hopefully begin the enjoyable task of filling the holds with fresh fish. We can only hope that fishing is anywhere near the quality of our weather which as it has all trip, remains perfect. Frank held the last seminar this morning so obviously now, all of us know everything there is to know about wahoo and tuna fishing. But seriously… we are all prepared and...... Read More
