Channel Islands Sportfishing
Sunday was a productive day to say the least aboard the Gentleman. Our ¾ day freelance trip took out 35 anglers and got into another good surface bite catching Bonito before moving on and loading up on those tasty Sand Dabs. The ocean was calm and the rain held off for most of the day, with only occasional sprinkles.
Today’s Fish Count: 1 boats and 35 anglers
3,000 Sand Dabs and 67 Bonito.

1-3-2016Bonito were wide open again today but the wind came up and made Sand Dab fishing too difficult. Anglers said they couldnt hold bottom toward the end of the day. From the sounds of things our anglers aboard the Gentleman today were kept busy pretty much the entire time. While loading up on Dabs, Captain Donny saw a school of Bonito breaking the surface in the distance. Quickly, the deckhands re-rigged everyone for surface as the boat positioned and chummed the fish up. The bite was fast and furious as they caught limits of Bonito in 45 minutes.
