This is Larry Eilbott from St. Louis, and yet again I will be manning the keyboard to bring you the daily reports from the annual Izorline 18 day adventure. As my legion of loyal followers know, (well at least a few people know) I attempt to bring a unique perspective on trip reporting and will of course always make you smile with a daily poem. We got off to a fairly late start as the previous trip had the misfortune of bad weather and the boat needed a few tweaks before we could take off. We eventually got our gear and bait loaded and departed under sunny cloudless skies and a temperature I could only wish for if I was back home under the captainage of Roy. Out of the 19 passengers aboard, all but 3 or 4 are repeat regulars on this trip and that makes it even more enjoyable as it’s much like a home coming reunion.
Howard Hada as usual, is our Izorline rep., and also as usual, he did not show up empty handed. He raffled off a couple of rod blanks, and every one ended up with T shirts, jigs, and other assorted goodies. We thank Calstar and Seeker rods, Tady Lures, Ernie Seko, and of course Izorline also who will supply heavy test line throughout the trip. Obviously there is not a lot more to say at the moment. We will all be turning in shortly, we’re well fed, the ride is smooth as can be, and in a few days we’ll be rested and ready. A few days after that hopefully we won’t be so rested.
POEM OF THE DAY
Roy limits out I suppose
Cause fish are slaves to their nose
Though they know to steer clear
They’re compelled to draw near
When they stop to smell the Rose.
