Variety day

10/17/15 Were it not for that first booming day on beautiful yellowfin tuna we'd be in dire straits here. This is tough fishing; just about every zone down here is in a serious funk. A transition we hope, that presently offers very little in the way of premium game fish to target, phases similar to this have been seen and survived plenty of times past. It's all part of the program; but it isn't very entertaining. Like I said though, regardless of the present fish drought, we are forging through this retaining our sense of humor. We managed to land a couple of handfuls of “skinnies” throughout the day and racked up an impressive 13 different species in the variety department – including one octopus released unharmed. In good enough weather the search continues tomorrow in another zone. Thankfully I still have an image or two left from greener pastures featuring Royal Star veterans Rob Taylor with a fine grade yellowfin landed on day one, and Dave Heulitt with a beautiful grade dorado landed near the jumbo kelp visible in the background.

If you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE or call (619) 224-4764 to get in on the action.
