Dead Zone

Very little to report in the way of catching; really rather gruesome. Not that the day was bad or the scenery amiss, it was a beautiful and some pleasant time at the rail was had by all, large game fish production simply went by the wayside. None were to be found; and we did some looking. Logging some serious afternoon miles we scoured a vast stretch for one lonely wahoo – a hard earned bonus for the marathon troll. By day's end it was crystal clear that our time in transit was to continue; another jump to the south was the obvious call. The beauty of long range fishing: when one zone is off another beckons from afar. So we roll with visions of something better on our bow. Tomorrow will tell. Photo number one today features long time Royal Star veteran Larry Nye with a 120 pound class dandy coming over the rail. Photo bomber Brian Magnuson shares some of the limelight with Larry in the shot. Photo number two features another long time Royal Star friend and angler Jim Marshall with his first wahoo of the voyage coming over the rail.
