Tremendous day

9/14/15 An epic day of fishing here to be sure; the best I have ever seen, or heard of, in this region. Real deal action on 25 – 40# yellowfin tuna and beautiful grade wahoo both wowed this group of anglers and flat wore them out. Production today wasn't a matter of opportunity, it was a matter of horsepower. Mid day in particular was the kind of cast and swing style action on beautiful grade yellowfin that we have desperately yearned for this entire season. How sweet it was. Throw in the surprisingly steady fishing for 35 – 60# pound skin, again real deal long range “bingos” where five, eight, ten anglers had fish going at the same time while charged up wahoo exploded on retrived lures and tossed baits all around the boat, and this day becomes something very special – extraordinary truth be told. I don't toss around those terms lightly describing fishing. Overuse of such adjectives diminishes the significance of the handful or two of days out here when magic occurs: when all conditions and factors unite to make reality of the dream we fishermen passionately pursue. This was one of those days. In pristine conditions – flat calm seas, crystal clear water, a sheet glass surface that served as a lens into the deeps revealing hundreds of tunas and wahoo patrolling below - fishermen practiced their passion gloriously unobstructed. Mother Nature was very kind to us today; a beneficient favor to this group of anglers, and a long awaited reward to Captain and crew. Very gratifying I have to say. Now we're in the market for more. Photos today feature a couple of first time Royal Star anglers we are very thankful to welcome. Rodney Evraets and Ed Burke were among many to score these dandy grade “skinnies” today. Good livin'; yes sir!

9/12/15 Off to a great start here; I'm admittedly envious though of the catch that Captain, “Always Get's 'em”, Toussaint and the boys just unloaded from the prior three day voyage sponsored by “The Bight”. Beautiful grade yellowfin tuna and yellowtail from the offshore grounds filled limits for quite a few anglers and came out of the RSW tanks in the most perfect conditions imaginable. Combined with grease calm weather the boys really came off the last run looking like champions. On...... Read More
