California Delta Fishing Report

RB Bass

Hit the Delta at first light today with my buddy Preston Henson. We launched at B&W resort with a high out going tide, seventy six degree water temps and overcast skies. We both started out on top,Preston with the D&M Buzzbait and myself with the River 2 Sea Whopper-plopper.The buzz bait caught a few keepers early and the plopper only managed a few rats.Today our goal was just to have fun so we covered a lot of water we don’t fish regularly. To say we Junk fished today would be an under statement.Crank baits,Rip baits,Drop-shot ,Chatter bait,Punching,Jig and Frogs. They all caught fish for us except the punch,Only problem was the lack of quality bites until later in the day when the River2sea frog fished slow, slow, slow over the cheese got the two biggest bites of the day for us.All tho it wasn’t a player for us today several of my friends on the Delta today reported a great punch bite with 25 plus pound bags.I think the key is to find the Bait then slow down and really milk those areas.Hope this helps some of you out and remember [Big motor on Life jacket on !!!!!!] See ya on the water Bob Tyler.
