8/21/15 Among the chosen few this morning we set off on the right tone and never looked back. Yes it was bound to happen. In the process we boated a fine score of 25 pound class yellowfin then headed past the fringe to see if we could cap this voyage off with something genuinely exceptional. Beyond a couple of handfuls of dorado and one jackpot settling yellowfin landed in the eleventh hour the all in venture was a unfulfilled flyer. But we're still satistified with the effort. It was awfully nice to look around and see pure blue in every direction; we were fishing. No doubt these are interesting times in the realm of long range fishing, very interesting. With the options and bait presently available it takes some nimble thinking and a deft hand to successfully execute a well rounded adventure. Everything must be viewed in context. And the criteria of success must be consistent with available options. It's what I love about long range fishing; and what I believe the majority of anglers venturing these voyages love as well. One never knows how their voyage will unfold, or what the fishing will yield. Millions of variables guarantee that no two voyages will ever be the same. There has never been a better example of this axiom that the summer of 2015. So ends the 2015 annual Nakamura/Myers seven day run. A definitive success we head in for a quick turn tomorrow when the next seven day run departs with Captain Brian “Gerbie” Sims behind the helm. Switching hats I'll be taking a seat behind the microphone with Pete Gray and “Rock Cod” Rick Maxa Sunday morning on the “Let's Talk Hookup” radio show (1090 AM). Photos today end the narrative with anlgers Jack Oki, Denise Nakamura, and Ken (K.C.) Collins featured. Jack hammered this nice yellowfin using the “Colt Sniper” lure. Denise picked up this show stopping, 30 pound dorado, and K.C. Landed this last minute 45 pound yellowfin to end his voyage on a stellar note in flat calm conditions.
