Fish Report for 11-29-2007

What a difference a day makes...

We have all been there; red hot fishing one day and just fair to downright lousy fishing the next. All week we experienced very good salmon fishing on the Sacramento River for bright king salmon to 30 plus pounds and then it hit! For whatever reason we experienced that day, one 19 inch bright jack salmon which was tasty so I was told. (That's 19 inches not 19 pounds.) So I stick with what has worked all week long and hit the water the next morning with that burning desire to catch salmon and BOOM as fast as I can lower the kwikfish to the bottom we have three beautiful bright salmon in the box to 21 pounds. Here are a couple of shots of Tom Raftican, president of United Anglers of Southern California holding his limit of a hatchery and wild king salmon while out with guide Dave Jacobs of professional guide service in late November. Anderson, Ca. downstream to Chico, Ca. has experienced good salmon fishing in November and fishing should remain good through mid January.
