Sittin on a rip rap bank in the day...

Dave Jacobs

However unsightly a concrete infested rip rap point may be, this time of year big bright beautiful salmon love to hang out for a minute on their up river journey to spawn. Mike Rassmussen holds up one of the Sacramento River's late Fall king salmon caught on a sardine wrapped K-16 Kwikfish hooked directly behind a huge rip rap point. Mike and Dave Jacobs of Professional guide service landed two salmon, one 21 pounds and this salmon of 32 pounds in late November below the Red Bluff diversion dam.
