Bluefin for the Tribute

Captain Jacob Hensley aboard the Tribute has called in from a day and a half trip with 33 bluefin tuna and still fishing. The bluefin are biting the 25-30# test with fluorocarbon leaders and 2/0 hooks with a few fish being caught on the jigs. We have one days and day and a half trips throughout the week fishing offshore.

The season is upon us with large amounts of bluefin tuna offshore and yellowtail along the coastline. The New Seaforth's half day trips have been catching a nice mixed bag of yellowtail, calico bass and rockfish. The San Diego has been offering three quarter day freelance trips whether it be fishing offshore for tuna or fishing the coast for yellowtail. Saturday update: Both the New Seaforth and Sea Watch ran morning half day trips and each boat returned with 21 yellowtail. The Pacific Voyager on the first of a three day trip had 61 bluefin tuna up to 50lbs. The San Diego is returning from a three quarter day with 13 bluefin tuna, 1 yellowtail and 1 bonito.
