Channel Islands Sportfishing
An impressive count reported by our fleet this afternoon including Yellowtail, Halibut and Barracuda. Bottom fishing for Rockfish and Lingcod was very good to say the least, but it was the Yellows that stole the show. Captain Tucker and the anglers aboard the Mirage spent the second day of a two day trip catching 57 Yellowtail to go along with an already outstanding count from the day prior. Barracuda are showing up in big numbers at Santa Cruz Island and some boats are having a blast pulling on these toothy and fun fighting fish. There was even a few more White Seabass caught this afternoon to round out a great weekend! We have trips going out tomorrow and every day this upcoming week. The fish are here and more are showing up every day.
Today's Fish Count: 12 boats and 262 anglers.
59 Yellowtail, 113 Barracuda, 36 Calico Bass, 2 Halibut, 2 White Seabass, 277 Ocean Whitefish, 2 Sole, 55 Sheephead, 1 Sculpin, 86 Lingcod, 2 Cabezon and 1,929 Rockfish.
