Channel Islands Sportfishing
The end of another beautiful weekend fishing the pristine Northern Channel Islands! The sun shined all day and for the most part was good conditions. By mid day the local island boats experienced some wind but the outer island guys never got it. In fact the captains have been saying the farther west you go the better the weather is. Needless to say this means out overnight boats fished San Miguel Island and KILLED IT! Even captain Shawn on the Aloha Spirit mentioned he would probably be running to the west end of Santa Cruz tomorrow to capitalize on this unique condition. We had a few more White Seabass caught today on the full day boats Island Tak and Cobra, but the hottest bite was actually on our 3/4 day Erna B. They returned to the dock super early with limits of BIG reds for everyone on board. Those anglers were stoked! Last mention goes to the Coral Sea as we say farewell to her as she was sold earlier in the month and will be running out of Santa Barbara running 3/4 day trips.
Today's Fish Count: 12 boats and 268 anglers.
3 White Seabass, 115 Whitefish, 3 Sheephead, 1865 Rockfish, 144 Lingcod, 1 Rock Sole, 3 Sculpin, 17 Calico Bass and 1 Wolf Eel (released).
