Quality Rockfish and an Exotic Catch at Cisco's
4-4-2015
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Great quality for today's anglers fishing the local islands. Better than average Reds and other assorted Rockfish were biting today. Overnight boats are catching there limits of big Rockfish at the outer islands, plus they are still loading up on Lingcod. Almost limits of Ling's again today! Finally, and unusual catch today on one of our 3/4 day trips. Not one, but three Blueline Tilefish were caught while bottom fishing in the shallows. This fish looks a lot like an Ocean Whitefish but they can get really big, up to 40lbs in some area's. More common on the Southeast Atlantic, but also found more rarely in the Pacific. Very cool catch!
Today's Fish Count: 10 boats and 229 anglers
1830 Rockfish, 83 Ocean Whitefish, 86 Lingcod, 27 Sculpin, 1 Wolf Eel, 3 Sheephead, 42 Calico Bass and 3 Blueline Tilefish.
