A show kind of morning - long range, big fish action defined. Big baits right at the crack of dawn, steady bites on trophies in the 140 through 230 pound class - this was as we wanted it to be; the exceptional fortune continues. Between primo working weather - flat calm with an easy rolling swell and virtually zero seas, near perfect fishing conditions, easy bait to replenish our already robust supply, and signs of jumbo class yellowfin tuna around to make a seasoned fisherman salivate I'm feeling mighty warm about the present setting, and future potential, down here.
In the present our plan is straight forward: keep living the dream, maximize the potential, fish for giants, then fish some more. We'll ride this trend until capacity is reached, or our time in this field of dreams comes to an end.
Tony Vultaggio and Cliff Hamaishi do the honors today with their respective 230 and 220 pound trophy yellowfin tunas.

1-16-201401/15/14 Yet again the bar was raised; straight bigger fish today - none under about ninety pounds with the vast majority from 120 - 170. At least a couple of opportunities at jumbos eluded us, a somewhat maddening theme so far on this run, but the day was not lost because of it. This was near as ideal a day of this style of fishing as one could ask for. All day long we stayed put enjoying the perfect pace of...... Read More

01/14/14 Another excellent morning, that continued past the dawn "rush hour" well into the day, placed us in the coveted position of freighting early fish wealth. We are fat on quantity to the point of seeking quality almost exclusively with three and a half fishing days remaining. Ahhh, to be in this position so early on is what we define as a "quality problem"; too much bait and too much fish. We'll take it. The action this morning was about fifty/fifty...... Read More
