A sequence today of our beloved Royal Star being hauled; this has become somewhat of an annual tradition that never seems to lose it's dramatic impact. Same as the previous eighteen years we haul the boat at Driscoll boat works on Shelter Island and welcome any and all of you to stop by and take a look at her while she spends a few days out of her environment. The projects proceed at a lightning pace as we rip and tear things apart in our quest to update and improve. Have a fine day!

But the unique setting, strange and surreal, is still enchanting, and...... Read More

3/18/13 Arrival Sunday, March 17th from the 2013 Clipperton voyage; haul out Monday, 0800, March 18th; time to make hay - about a hundred different projects call from the roster and we have just over three weeks to complete the tasks. I'll post a couple of images tomorrow of the boat being hauled looking a little piqued after this full season. Images today are supplied by long time Royal Star friend and ardent photo correspondent Toke Aw who has always generously shared...... Read More
