The Department of Fish and Game (DFG) is offering a Wild Pig Hunting Clinic at the Tejon Ranch in southern Kern County on Aug. 5. This exciting clinic, in partnership with Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association and Tejon Ranch, will cover pig biology, hunting techniques and requirements, methods for locating wild pigs, locations to hunt, actual field dressing and care of game.

The clinic will run from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost for the clinic is $40; however, registration is free to all Pacific Coast Hunter Education Association members and other Certified Hunter Education Instructors as appreciation for help in educating the next generation of California hunters. A barbeque lunch will be available for a $5 donation.

The clinic will have raffle tickets to purchase for $5, or five for $20. The clinic can accept cash and checks but no credit cards. One of the raffle items is a guided pig hunt. All proceeds from the clinic will go to the hunter education association and DFG's Advanced Hunter Education Program.

Space is limited. To register, go to www.dfg.ca.gov/huntclinics and fill out the registration form or call (530) 347-3980 to have one mailed. For more information about this clinic and the other Advanced Hunter Education clinics, contact Susan Herrgesell at (530) 347-3980 or at sherrges@dfg.ca.gov.
