Fish Lake UT Fish Report

2-11-2015
Utah Division of Wildlife

Over 1,700 anglers participated in the Fish Lake perch fishing contest. Anglers harvested between 30,000 and 40,000 perch in one day. Remember: there is no limit for perch at Fish Lake and perch caught here can be disposed of in any manner. Anglers are encouraged to remove as many perch from the lake as they can. The ice is safe across the entire lake. The south end has the thickest ice -- up to 12 inches -- while the clear ice on the north end is the thinnest at about six inches. Fishing is good to excellent for perch and small trout near the weedline in 15 to 25 feet of water. You can catch larger rainbow and splake trout at 25 to 35 feet on the bottom or suspended at the same depths over deep water. If you're targeting lake trout and have a lot of patience, try fishing on the bottom in 70 to 100 feet. Sonar can be very helpful in deep water, whether you're fishing on the bottom or suspended. Call the Fish Lake Lodge at 435-638-1000 for up-to-date conditions and fishing reports.
