Nor Cal Fish Reports

ANTIOCH: Sturgeon bite has been good at Collinsville and Sherman Island. Shore anglers at Sherman Island are scoring. Striper bite is slow. Gotcha Bait & Tackle (925) 706-7400

BENICIA: Anglers going to the Rock Wall in San Pablo Bay are getting sturgeon in five to six feet of water. Mothball Fleet also has been good. There are good sturgeon prospects from Big Cut out to San Pablo Bay. Grass shrimp, ghost shrimp both work. Benicia Bait (707) 745-4921

DISCOVERY BAY: Fair bass bite here. Be prepared to be patient and work slowly. Hook, Line & Sinker (925) 625-2441

FRANK'S TRACT: Bass bite is starting to pick up, but a change in the weather may change that. Fish methodically and slowly. Striper bite is fair. Swim baits work well. Bass are small. A 10 pounder is a rarity. Hook, Line & Sinker (925) 625-2441

PITTSBURG: Bite remains slow for both sturgeon and stripers. Dockside Bait (925) 252-0151

RIO VISTA: Sturgeon were caught over the weekend in Cache Slough with eel, ghost shrimp or grass shrimp. Those using eel or ghost were adding a pile worm. Striper bite is so-so. Most are shakers. Hap's Bait (707) 374-2372, Barry Canavero (916) 777-6498 cel 916-870-4225 374-5522

STOCKTON: Stripers can be caught near Mossdale. Crappie and big redear are starting to be caught on Eight Mile Road at King Island. Jumbo red worms or medium minnows will do the trick. A long cast to deep water is required. (209) 463-1938

TRACY: Live bait or white pearl swim baits will get small stripers. Nothing larger than five pounds and expect a lot of shakers. Black bass tournament on Saturday was won with a 23.45 pound bag with a 10.99 pound big fish. Black and blue jigs and chatter baits did the damage. Next closest bag was 16 pounds. Tracy Oasis Marina (209) 835-3182
