Shellmaker Island Tour Scheduled Saturday, Nov. 18th

Join a naturalist on a free tour of historic Shellmaker Island on Saturday, Oct. 21. The tour begins promptly at 9 a.m. at the Back Bay Science Center, located at 600 Shellmaker Rd. in Newport Beach.
This tour is all about discovery: Break away from the busy streets and see nature up close. Feed a shark. Meet visiting neighbors from Canada, migratory birds having a meal along the mudflats, or scan the nearby bluffs where an ancient Indian village once existed. Binoculars are available.
The island is a part of a 752-acre wildlife reserve which is managed by the California Department of Fish and Game. For more information, call The Back Bay Science Center at 949-640-9956.
