Big late Fall salmon starting to show on Sacramento River

Late Fall salmon fishing can be a angler's chance at a salmon of a lifetime. With Fall salmon fishing rapping up with a few old dark salmon milling around, angler's can begin to target the late Fall run of salmon which are some of the biggest and brightest salmon of the year. Here is a shot of Mike and Liz Martin from Vacaville, Ca. who have always wanted to give salmon fishing a try on the Sacramento River. They were joined by Professional guide service's Dave Jacobs in mid October for a total of four nice early late Fall salmon downstream of Red Bluff, Ca. Liz's salmon weighed in at 22 pounds with her biggest a 30 pounder. All four salmon hammered a fresh sardine wrapped K-16 Kwikfish backbounced in around 20 feet of water. Late Fall salmon fishing begins in late October/November and continues through mid January.
