Kens Sport Fish Report 10-14-07

The fishing has been pretty good over the weekend, some places better than others, but there's plenty of fish to be caught these days!

The East Walker is fishing great for most anglers. Either midges (zebra midges, WD-40's, silver streaks, midgelings, etc.) or some streamers (hornbergs, zuddlers, white flash-a-buggers and the like) are all doing well. We've had great reports from the miracle mile, the section below the bridge, the Sceirine section as well as the Rosachi section. Lots of the guys we've talked to have gotten in to 20 or more fish a day, with a fish or two each day in the 20+ range. We've of course had a couple guys here and there who haven't done well, but I'd say at least 90 percent of the anglers are all smiles!

We've started getting some good reports from Bridgeport Lake the last 3 or 4 days! The water is still green, but the fish seem to be becoming a little more cooperative! We've had several good reports from bait fishermen, both from the shore and from boats over on the backside of the lake, and yesterday I spoke with an angler who trolled for a couple hours in the afternoon with orange spoons and caught 4 rainbows and 1 brown, not too shabby for just a couple hours. I'm getting the feeling now that the weather is cooling down the fishing will start heating up!

Twin Lakes are still fishing well also, as well as the Virginias. Both places you can do well casting spoons and spinners, or Rapalas, as well as fishing bait like power bait and night crawlers. Haven't seen any double digit fish from the Twins yet, but I fully expect to in the next few weeks. Now is the time for the big browns to start showing.

Kirman is still fishing well for the cutts, not too many brookies showing up though. I'd say about 90% of the fish being caught are cutts. Wooly buggers, Stillwater nymphs, seal buggers, scud, water boatmans are all doing well, also talked to a guy yesterday that did really well casting barbless spinners. The cutts are plenty feisty and will give you a ton of fun if you're up there!
