"We fished Cedros Island today," wrote Searcher Captain Art Taylor November 2, "for yellowtail with hope to catch some quality size fish. We were really lucky and managed to land 40 yellowtail in the 25 to 35-pound class. The majority of the fish were caught flylining sardines and 50-pound line. We were in shallow water next to the kelp, so it was important to have heavy line and a tight drag to keep the fish from going in the kelp. We saw fish on the surface. It's always a treat to see those fish boil around. We caught a few fish on surface irons. What a great ending to a great trip with lots of variety and a great opportunity to catch fish."

Art parked the rig at Fisherman's Landing November 4 at the end of his seven-day trip with 21 anglers. The fishermen had a good mix of wahoo, dorado, yellowtail and other species.

George Schuyler of Pt. Hadlock, WA won the jackpot for a 51.2-pound wahoo. He said his winner whacked a silver and red Raider jig on 30-pound P-Line, a Trion 30 reel and a Calstar 765 L rod.

Steve Robinson of Garden Grove was second, for a 50.2-pounder, and Tony Altieri of Toluca Lake was hot on his heels with a 50.1-pound skinny, good for third place.
