Most waters in the area were stocked pretty heavily for the big weekend, and most waters are fishing pretty well. The Million Dollar Trout Stock is in full swing and we're starting to get some tagged fish in for that event. One of the tagged fish is??potentially worth $1,000,000!??
Bridgeport Lake is a little hit and miss the last few days, one day it will be tough and the next it will be killer. On the killer days it's been??mostly with crawlers either in Buckeye Bay, or off of Rainbow Point, or trolling small Rapalas off of Rainbow Point. Haven't talked to any fly fishermen lately but I'd guess streamers would??be the ticket, hornbergs, matukas, buggers and the like.
The East has come down in temperature a little and the fish seem to be on the re-bound. I spoke with a couple locals that went down to give it a??go and they did ok with dries in the evening, when asked how the fish seemed both coming in and being released they said they were plenty full??of energy and??they even got broken off a couple times.??They said the water temp was about 64 degrees which is sounding a lot better! I'll try to get down there myself to take a look around and let you know more asap.
The Virginias are doing well with bait and lures as well as some fly patterns. Buggers and soft hackles are great up there, small hot shots and salmon peach power bait will also do the trick.??
The Twins are also starting to produce some fish for most anglers, the same types of bait and flies as at the Virginias should do it for you.??
Heenan opened yesterday, as soon as I get any feedback on how the weekend went I'll let you know.??
