Monterey Bay Fish Report 08-30-07

The fishing for Albacore was decent for some and good for others today. I fished at 37'00/123'01 to 37'00/122'06 and ended the day with 10 fish and lost a few on bait and troll. The best thing I have ever seen was witness by another boat when a 350 Lb. Swordfish skyrocketed out of the air tail walking! There are Swordfish around I may start targeting them instead of Albacore. There was a good bite first thing in the morning. There was one boat that did well in the afternoon at 36'59/122'56. The inshore bite was decent for Halibut and Rockcod. The Salmon are still in the Soquel Hole. The water is flat calm!
