Fish Report for 12-21-2014

Cisco's COUNT/REPORT Great Weekend!

12-21-2014
Channel Islands Sportfishing

Only 1 weekend remaining in this 2014 season.. and if today's fishing says anything about the upcoming week it should send the season out with a bang! After our most recent rain/wind/swell storms everyone was wondering what it would do to the fish and water temp's. After a full weekend of fishing we can say everything is stable and has changed little. Water temperatures are still in the mid 60's and the fish are biting. We hooked several yellowtail today on a full day trip with Captain John and the Cobra. If bottom fishing is your thing, you need to get on the water! All the boats are catching better than average quality rockfish and some whopper lingcod. Everyone is coming back with way more fish than expected, so be prepared for a fish fry!

Today's Fish Count: 6 boats and 115 anglers
33 Whitefish, 842 Rockfish, 12 Lingcod, 30 Sheephead, 130 Opaleye Perch, 1 Leopard Shark, 5 Yellowtail and 1 Halibut.

We will have boats targeting the yellowtail all week and several more boats going bottom fishing to fill your freezer. Overnight trips departing daily and morning trips leaving every hour on the hour between 4am and 8am.
After the holiday we will also start our whale watching trips on the Ranger85. Trips to start will be leaving at 9am and 1pm and there are whales already showing up according to our fishing boats!
