Fishing News

Trout are the main story this week. Anglers are reporting limits both on the lake and at the pond.

Bass anglers are out everyday but not stopping in to report. When asked they tell me they are catching 2-5 lbs striped and 2-6 lbs large mouth. All that I talked to returned them to the lake so I haven't witnessed the catch. Fishing at the narrows, cove just east of SS covered berth and down by the Lancha Palana bridge.

Trout: Power bait, Kastmaster, crappie jigs and trout magnet were the baits listed this week.

Bass: Senko, wacky worm, frogs

Beau Courtal of Valley Springs brought in this beauty on 11/22. He told us he was fishing the main lake using Kastmaster. This beast weighed in at 10.50 lbs.

Lake Conditions
Lake Camanche's current elevation is 184.42 as of 11/25/14. Water temperature at the launch ramp is approximately 61 degrees and the lake is 30% full. The inflow from Lake Pardee is currently 11 c.s.f. and the outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 231 c.s.f. The flows into Camanche currently vary from 11 cfs to 800 cfs. This is because when they are generating electricity from Pardee the flow is increased from the baseline 11 cfs at this time they are turning on two of the three generating units periodically during the week. Each unit can deliver 400 cfs, thus the 11-800 cfs range.
