Channel Islands Sportfishing
Of course the game fish don't bite wide open every day, and seem to be taking the weekends off like the rest of us. Lucky for us the Channel Islands enjoys a wide variety of both shallow and deep water bottom fishing catching nice rockfish, lingcod, sheephead and ocean whitefish. For those anglers wanting to bass fish, the Calico bite has been simply off the hook! They are biting the plastics and live bait, but reports of simple lead head fishing with strips of squid putting up the biggest numbers.
Today's Fish Count: 10 boats and 251 anglers.
1909 Rockfish, 15 Sheephead, 149 Ocean Whitefish, 107 Lingcod, 1 Mako Shark, 7 Sculpin, 2 Halibut, 1 Sand Bass, 14 Yellowtail and 41 Calico Bass.
