Cisco's Report & Count for Wed 10/1/14 - BIG YELLOWS!
10-1-2014
Channel Islands Sportfishing
Yellowtail are still running! The full day Aloha Spirit went out today with 19 anglers and caught 30 yellows from 20 to 30 pounds. Landing that many fish, you know they had several casualties.. Another excellent day for captain Cory on the Aloha!
We had two other boats out as well.. captain Don on the Gentleman took out only 24 anglers and showed them a good time catching shallow water species like sheephead, whitefish, perch and more. They even had a nice yellowtail of there own. Our last departure this morning was with captain Jesse on the Speed Twin. They only had 9 anglers on the half day this morning.. a dream load for a huge boat like the twin! Must have been a real treat for those nine anglers catching limits of rockfish plus some whitefish, sheephead and sculpin.
Today's Fish Count: 3 boats and 52 anglers.
31 Yellowtail, 31 Whitefish, 13 Sheephead, 6 Sculpin, 160 Rockfish, 50 Perch and 12 Calico Bass.
All the boats enjoyed good weather on the water today. Warm day with the sun shining on a mellow ocean.
We have trips departing again tomorrow starting with the Cobra at 4am, then the Aloha Spirit at 5am. Both of these trips will be targeting the big yellows! Then departing at 6am we have the Gentleman followed by the Erna B at 7am and the Speed Twin at 8am. Give us a call if you can make it.. it looks to be another great day of fishing!!!
