Wow, what a day! We started out catching some mackerel for bait in the dark. Then we started fishing in the gray light with some lightning and a killer sunrise, a beautiful morning on the Baja coast. On our first drift we started getting'em and good! First drift a couple boxes of very nice yellows. Then a short move and all an angler wanted, big fat YT'S ALL day long. A couple bonus halibuts and a very nice white sea bass along with a great group of anglers made for a perfect day fishing. More give aways at dinner from Berkley sales rep Matt Barlow topped it off. Day 5 of the trip tomorrow will put us on the baja coast in search of some bottom fish for the freezer, till then, Q105 crew, out

8-20-2007Today we fished for the longfin tuna (albacore). When the sun hit the water we got started with trolling, glassing and more trolling. Our first stop put a few on the boat but not many. It ended up a pretty tough day, altough we did manage some fish. 15 year old Spencer Merli got his first albacore, and with a little proding from his dad continued the tradition of chewing (and swallowing the heart!) Then a great steak dinner was enjoyed by all. We will be headed south tommorow...... Read More
