Pardee Reservoir Fish Report

9-26-2014
Fred Dorman

Cooling trend this week end and beyond, temperatures in the high 60's to low 70's with a chance of rain Saturday and some clouds Sunday and throughout the week. ALL launch ramp facilities still accessible.

Only a couple of anglers in the recreation area this morning, the Marina reports not much caught off the banks during the past week. Woodpile early in the morning or Stoney Point Landing would most likely be your best bet from the shore. The water is cooler and deeper there. Power Bait, chartreuse with sparkles, eggs with garlic, orange and pink mouse tails along with night crawlers on a sliding sinker or a half full water bubble all have all been successful to this point.

Trolling for Kokanee continues to be good upstream near Twin Coves, Columbia and Deer Island. Fish remain in deeper water and are still at the 50 to 100 feet levels. Trollers are having good luck with chrome/brass/purple Apex lures, Hoochies and beaded spinners behind a dodger.

No information on the Catfish bite lately. Try the warmer cove areas from Mel's all the way down to Rattlesnake and upstream as well. Power bait, night crawlers, stinky chicken livers are all popular with our whiskered friends.

Bass fishing remains good around coves and rocky points all along the eastern side of the Lake. Purple worms are the hot ones this report along with crank baits.

Current success stories: Mike Nichols of Mantica his Brother and a Friend got these nice limits of Kokanee recently in the Deer Island area. They got nice solid fish to 14 inches, none exhibiting much sign of changes as yet. Congratulations, well done!!

Lake Level is currently at 81% of capacity and holding, in the near future look for the level to drop some as water is released into Comanche Reservoir once again. Water temperature has cooled somewhat and is currently 67 degrees at 20 feet and 71 at the surface; clarity is good to 17 feet plus at the Marina depending on the amount of weeds present due to lower water levels.

Lake Pardee Recreation has planted a total of 24,000 pounds of fish for the season so far.
