Channel Islands Sportfishing

Nice day out fishing the Channel Islands today. Most boats kept it shallowlooking for yellowtail, calico bass and shallow rockfish. Island Tak had the bulk of the yellows with 23 for only 8 anglers with 40 bass to round out the day. The Aloha Spirit had a sponsored trip with Seeker Rods just lay waist to the bonito while landing a few yellows and calicos of there own. Sea Jay had another solid day on the calico's and had 6 yellowtail landed, loosing a hand full as well. Erna B had a flurry landing 1 yellow before moving on to target other species, while the 1/2 day Speed Twin and Overnight Mirage had solid fishing for rockfish and lingcod.

Today's Fish Count: 6 boats and 80 anglers
34 Yellowtail, 100 Bonito, 126 Calico Bass, 35 Whitefish, 469 Rockfish, 20 Sheephead, 18 Lingcod, 4 Cabezon and 34 Perch.

So for Wednesday it seems the early morning boats had the best shot at a game fish.. Let's see who get's on them tomorrow!
