Firehole River Fish Report
8-21-2014
Craig Mathews
The Firehole River is coming on strong with all our cool-wet weather. Afternoon Baetis mayflies and Hydropsche caddis are emerging and the fish are rising to them. Keep some Baetis Sparkle Duns and Tan X Caddis patterns in your fly box. Conditions vary from day to day so check with us for current information but plan a day on this great river when conditions are right! You can also find some terrestrial fishing up here when the weather is warm. Biscuit Basin has been fishing very well for a while now but the other sections of the river should be coming back now that the temps have cooled off.
