Fine fishing great times, and lots of fish!

Yesterday we found a nice kelp and stuck a flag in it. This morning we stopped on the same flagged kelp and BAM, fishing is game on!
The kelp was 12 miles to the east this morning at 5:15 AM. When the drift slowed down the tally was very nice with lots of Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail and Dorado. The fishing seems to be getting better and that would be hard to imagine with the great scores of the past couple of weeks. Once would say "Epic as she goes," ....200+ fish for the morning and looking for more.
As a skipper on the Sea Adventure 80 it is tough to feel the 90+ temps that the folks inland are feeling. We seem to have 72 to 78 everyday. I hope that you can see yourself on the Sea Adventure 80 with a cool breeze and bent over the rail with a nice Tuna or Yellowtail. It's just as good, sharing your catch with family and friends over a nice barbecue. The past few trips have been mostly Yellowfin Tuna, Yellowtail, and a few Dorado. 4 and 5 trips ago we fished on the U.S side of the border and caught some very nice Bluefin Tuna. It's tough to decide where to fish and what to target and sometimes we make our minds up about 5 minutes before departure. So please bring a California fishing license down to San Diego / Sea Adventure 80 for the next week. We either fish Mexico or the U.S but not both on the same trip. Having both U.S. and Mexican Permits helps a lot for last minute competitive changes in attack. Yes boys size does matter. Line size, hook size, floral carbon size matters match your gear to the type and size fish you are fishing. This is a year to buy a little more tackle, ask your on board deckhands what has been work the best in the last couple of trips. Then go back up to the Landing tackle store and get what you need. H&M has a few sales counter helpers that love to fish and they are in the know with what is working the best for every type trip we offer. Make sure to ask the tackle rep. "Do you fish often?" Get your info from a guy that is a little sun burned and looks and talks like a person that loves what he is doing. Mega Bait, scampi's, fish trap, Salas and Tady jigs are working well. Live bait sardines and anchovy are working good too. There again hook and line size to match your bait is extremely important. Bring circle hooks and bring some ringed circle hooks too. Sometimes a chrome 6 or 8oz sinkers help when the fish are deep. Other times the fish are on the surface and Poppers work great too. That's it for now. Oh did I mention we are getting a boat load of fun on every trip? See you soonIf you would like to go fishing with us please BOOK ONLINE. You can give us a call at the landing (619) 222-1144 or call Scott at (619) 247-8971 to get in on the action.
