Hi Anglers,

I wanted to touch base with all of you fishing or yet to fish this season.

Word came out from officials in Mexico to restrict the take of Bluefin Tuna for the remainder of 2014.

We currently have our representatives working with fisheries managers in Mexico to gain further clarification, but in the meantime the bite rages on.

We are at the forefront of an extreme warm water event and there are good schools of Yellowfin, Yellowtail and Dorado moving into our range in LARGE numbers.

The Bluefin issue is something of a moot point for a couple reasons.

Like all highly migratory species, these fish are moving up to the north. There are many of these schools already in US waters, they just have not been biting as well, likely due to water conditions.

In addition, as the water temperature continues to rise, these fish will move towards cooler more offshore waters, and will be replaced by schools of ravenous Yellowfin and Dorado.

Who knows, we may see a banner Big Eye season this year.

The point is, I have been fielding phone calls and inquires the past 48 hours from anglers like you receiving this email.

The season is far from over, in fact it has only just begun.

2014 is exactly what we have all be looking forward to...El Nino.

Warm water species will migrate further north than normal during this type of event, allowing us access to those fish that one typically can only reach by fishing longer range trips.

This is going to be a banner season, with the best yet to come...the exotics have yet to hit the counts.

We are keeping our bows pointed offshore every day and catching fish.
