New salmon, steelhead, sturgeon endorsement
Beginning Jan. 1, 2014 anglers fishing for salmon, steelhead or sturgeon in the Columbia River and its tributaries will be required to have a Columbia River Basin endorsement. See a map of the Basin and get more information.
The Chinook salmon season on Three Rivers has been extended by two weeks, closing July 16 instead of July 1, 2014, under temporary rules approved by the Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife. The maximum leader length is 36 inches.
The season was extended to allow anglers greater opportunity to harvest hatchery spring Chinook in excess of hatchery brood stock needs.
The rule change applies to Three Rivers, a tributary of the Nestucca River, from its mouth near Hebo upstream approximately 2 ?? miles to the fishing deadline at the fish weir below Cedar Creek Hatchery.
