Firehole River Fish Report
6-19-2014
Craig Mathews
The Firehole River is fishing very well now. Pale Morning Dun hatches have been incredible on the entire length of the river. A few Flavs (small western green drakes) are coming off in selected areas near Fountain Flats Drive as well as green drakes so be prepared. White miller, Glossosoma and Hydrosyche caddis emergences furnish fine rises most afternoons when conditions are warm and calm. Best flies have been White Miller Soft Hackle Emergers, Iris, Fluttering and X Caddis along with #16 tan Iris and X2. For PMD's have sparkle duns and our foam emergers as well as Hi Viz Rusty Spinners for morning mayfly spinner times. Partridge and orange, partridge and herl and PMD Soft Hackles are working all day long.
