The hunt for white seabass continues at the channel islands. Most success coming on the outer island overnight trips but local trips still in the mix! Both Pacific Eagle and Pacific Dawn are fishing the outer islands now catching seabass and halibut. Island Spirit is holding down the local front in search of seabass, yellowtail and barracuda on a daily basis.
Open spots are had to come by, but we do have some trips coming up with open spots! See our online schedule and find a trip that works for you, then call us or book it online.
3/4 DAY & FULL DAY TACKLE: local islands or coastal fishing. Bring a lite rod/reel combo that you can cast with 12-20lb line. Also bring a medium rod/reel combo with 25-30lb line. Torpedo sinkers ranging from 6oz to 12oz and maybe some sliding sinkers from 1/4oz to 3/4oz. Hooks, bring some 2/0 live bait and 4/0-5/0 cirlcle hooks. Lastly, bring a bait catcher in case the boat needs to make live squid for your trip.
OVERNIGHT TACKLE: Outer island trips you want to bring a medium rod/reel combo with 25-30lb line and a medium-heavy rod/reel combo with 40lb line. Torpedo sinkers ranging from 8oz to 16oz and jigs and jig heads like salas 7x heavy, tady 4/0 or bannana/gitzem glow heads. Hooks are easy, 5/0 cirlcle hooks for fishing with live squid. Lastly, bring a bait catcher in case the boat needs to make live squid for your trip.
