Trout Planted!
1,200 pounds of Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout was planted at Lake Camanche on 5/1/14. All 1,200 lbs were released at the South shore pond.

Another great week for fishing out at Lake Camanche! Both bass and trout were the talk this past week.

Reported best spots for bass were down the river, the Narrows and around the new islands just off South Shore Eucalyptus area. Hot spots for trout were still out by the dam, the main lake, Hat Island and Causeway Cove. Excel spoons, senko, drop shot and texas rigs were reported for lake fishing.

Folks were consistantly pulling nice stringers from the pond on the following baits; rainbow powerbait, powerbait, flies & worms.


Weekly Weather
Looks like the tempuratures will be climbing on up as the week progresses. Starting out in the 80's and into the 90's later in the week. Lots & lots of sunshine. Overnight temps in the mid to upper 50's.

Lake Conditions
Lake Camanche's current elevation is 199.80 ft. above sea level. Water temperature at the launch ramps is approximately 60 degrees and the lake is 40% full. The inflow from Lake Pardee is currently 11 c.s.f. and the outflow from Lake Camanche is currently 328 c.s.f.

April 30th Lake Camanche received the last 1,200 pounds of Mt. Lassen Rainbow Trout for the season. Water temperatures are too high to safely release the trout. Most popular baits reported this on the lake this week were rapala lures, 4" rubber worms, sinko and crank bait. Folks at the pond were using powerbait, worms and orange mouse tails. Trolling out by the dam for trout brought one fisherman a crappie while casting for bass brought another fisherman a good size catfish down the river.
