Lake Sabrina Fish Report 08-12-07

Rick, Patti, Juanita and Jerrod

Fishing was better this week. The temperatures dropped a bit at the beginning of the week, but the warmer temps are due back along with a few breezes. I thought maybe autumn was just around the corner for a few days.

Fishing the inlets with worms or eggs was your best bet. For the trollers, flashers and a worm has been doing decent as has drifting worms or PowerBait by the rock piles. Shore fishing with PowerBait or an inflated worm brought in quite a few limits.

The Department of Fish and Game stocked the lake Tuesday with pan-size fish and a few fish tipping the scales at 2-pounds. If you happen to catch a fish with a tag in the gill, it`s just to let you know the DFG are stocking with some larger fish. We ask that you all be real careful this year and remember Smokey`s Motto - "Only YOU can prevent Forest Fires!"
B We did a bit of a flip-flop with the wind. It came up during the evening Friday night, blew all Saturday morning and pretty much stopped mid-afternoon only to come back up in the early evening, then it blew all night and it`s still a bit on the breezy side now. Hopefully, the winds will die and we`ll just have a nice breeze. Temps are to be in the low 70s and the lows in the high 40s.

Nimrod is turning into Rick`s dock kitty. You can usually find Nims down on the dock in the mornings scurring from boat to boat helping the anglers into the boats and then in the evenings helping clean out the 'leftovers` in the boats. We were a bit too busy to get Lo`s lion-cut done, so maybe this week. And, once again, Hi is just being Hi.

We have our fleet of green fishing boats, 2 kayaks for rent along with a canoe and the Party Boat (pontoon boat) which has propane BBQ for those wanting to fry up some burgers or hot dogs with out on the lake and keep on fishing.

We had a black lab that got out of the owner`s truck on Thursday, May 17th. It was picked up by a father and son who were in a gray - gold - taupe Chevy Z71 extended cab. Please give us a call if you happened to have picked up the dog. The owner extended his trip, stopped by the lake 3 mornings hoping the people who picked up his dog had come back to see if anyone had lost a dog.
