FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE - April 21, 2014California Dungeness Crab Task Force Meeting
A California Dungeness Crab Task Force (DCTF) public meeting will be held to discuss commercial and recreational issues surrounding the Dungeness crab fisheries on Tuesday, April 22 and Wednesday, April 23, 2014. The meeting will commence Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. and Wednesday at 7:30 a.m. at:Ukiah Valley Conference Center, Cabernet II Room 200 S School St. Ukiah, CA, 95482
Multiple issues may be discussed, including:
- commercial trap limit program to date
- changes in the commercial fishery over the last 10 years
- implications for commercial fishery management
- latent commercial permits
- tri-state commercial fishery issues
- establishing a recreational fishery work group
- Commercial Passenger Fishing Vessels (CPFVs) and the Dungeness crab recreational fishery
Limited copies of meeting materials will be provided at the meeting and will be posted to the DCTF website.
Members of the public are invited to provide comment following each agenda item; an opportunity to provide public comment on non-agenda topics will also be made available on each day of the meeting. To provide public comment, please fill out a "Request to Speak" card, which will be located at the entrance to the meeting room. A meeting summary will be made available via the DCTF website.

The DCTF was established pursuant to the requirements of Senate Bill 369. The DCTF will review the current management of the Dungeness crab fishery including the commercial Dungeness crab trap limit program and recommend potential Dungeness crab management changes to California legislature and regulators.
